Aleksandra Miasnikova is a New York based director of photography.
Living her teenage days in Belarus, she became interested in photography and capturing images around her. She studied cinematography at the Belorussian State Academy of Art, then New York film Academy in New York. She started her career in 2006 as a director of photography on documentary films and TV travel series. Among her achievements are : the documentary “Brotherly Candle” (2012), which is on the X International Festival “Radiant Angel” has won “The best documentary movie” This film has collected awards at other festivals in Russia and Ukraine.
In 2014 Aleksandra entered the four best young russian speaking cinematographers that were selected for the Nikina Mikhalkov’s Summer Film Academy by Ministry of culture. During the study Aleksandra filmed a short film “Khalhas” during the study. It was premiered in the Three cities film Festival in Santo Domingo. At the last Cannes Film Festival Was presents the short film “Once upon a Mine” (2014) as a part of Short Film Corner program. The Movie «Wonderpill» (2014) was presented in the Hoboken International Film festival, Columbia Gorge International Film Festival, The Indie Gathering International Film Festival and Jersey City International Television & Film Festival.
Aleksandra is currently living in Moscow and works as a freelance DP worldwide. Mainly she works for commercials. List of her works consist video for such a brands like Sony, Samsung, Lenovo, Nivea.
