Elle Schneider is a graduate of USC’s School of Cinematic Arts born and raised in New York City. Elle is a disciple of Roger Corman and David Lean, mixing a love of high-octane films with a classical storytelling background. Elle has been a cinematographer on more than 50 projects since 2010, including two feature documentaries, I AM DIVINE and THAT GUY DICK MILLER, both of which premiered at the SXSW Film Festival, the web series FUTURE GIRL, and the upcoming narrative feature SIX LOVE STORIES, in addition to many short documentaries, commercials, and DVD featurettes for clients like Shout Factory, Drafthouse Films, Blue Underground, and more.
Elle has done double duty as director and DP on music videos for Gangstagrass, Mock Sun, and Speedy Ortiz, whose David Lynch-inspired video for My Dead Girl premiered in Vanity Fair in December 2015, and she has been a juror for Slamdance, The Calgary Underground Film Festival, and the Women In Film finishing fund. In 2012 she co-designed the Digital Bolex cinema camera.
