Lindsay George is an award-winning cinematographer working on fictional films, documentaries and music videos. After a career as a professional modern dancer, she went on to complete a degree in film production at UBC, where she met several future collaborators that continue to work on projects together to this day. Shortly after graduation, she received a Leo Award for work on the short film, ‘The Porcelain Man’ and began her career as a professional cinematographer.
Through the work of several short films and features, she has been recognized as one of 10 to Watch by Playback Magazine in Canadian film and has received the Kodak Image Award for her work in cinematography. Her films have been official selections at many prestigious film festivals, such as TIFF, SXSW, VIFF, Whistler Film Festival, Fantasia, Telefilm’s Not Short on Talent at Cannes Court Mertage, and Austin Film Festival. Her first foray into the web series genre resulted in the multi-nominated and award winning show ‘The True Heroines’, for which she received the Best Cinematography (Dramady) award at LA Webfest. Most recently, she had been focusing on documentary work, recently screening as the 2nd unit DOP on the SXSW feature ‘The Sandwich Nazi’ and the continuation of principal photography on ‘Tempest Storm’, a feature documentary which has won several pitch prizes and will be completed in 2016.
