Whether narrative or commercial, long form or short, Liza enjoys collaboratively developing and crafting the visual language unique to each story. She draws from an exhaustive background in traditional, digital, photographic and theater arts. With the paradoxical background of being born in the Soviet Union, raised in the DC area and slowly becoming a New Yorker, Liza brings a cultural sensitivity and curiosity to each project. She is naturally attracted to stories of identity, location and the why, putting social relevance and change at the forefront of every story.
She got her start in the ranks of the camera department before graduating to shoot narrative shorts, docs and commercial work. Liza speaks English and Russian bilingually, a handful of other languages conversationally, and she enjoys equestrian, snow and water sports. Her first two features are slated for production in 2017.
